General Dentistry

General Dentistry

General dental treatments are aimed at removing and preventing dental disease. Stella Dental provides a full range of these treatments including, but not limited to: scale and cleans, fillings and fissure sealants, teeth whitening, extractions, x-rays and patient education. We also provide a variety of protective removable appliances such as mouthguards and oral splints.

Implant Dentistry

Implant Dentistry

Dental Implants are permanent titanium screws that replace tooth roots. Once healed in the bone, they are covered by a porcelain crown to look and function like a real tooth. Stella Dental works closely with local maxillofacial surgeons to assess and replace missing teeth with dental implants.

Dentures

Dentures

Our dentists pride themselves on their years of experience providing high-quality, functionally aesthetic removable false teeth. Dentures can be made from many different materials including chrome metal and acrylic plastic. They can be as simple as replacing one tooth in the mouth (partial denture) or as complex as implant-supported full dentures when no teeth are present and many designs in between.

Veneers, Crowns and Bridges

Veneers, Crowns and Bridges

Veneers and Crowns are porcelain or metal coverings that are cemented onto a trimmed tooth to replace the visible part of that tooth. They are usually recommended after root canal treatments but can also be used to improve a tooth's appearance or make it stronger. Bridges are false teeth attached to crowns on either side of a gap left by the missing teeth. Stella Dental work collaboratively with skilled and professional dental technicians to provide high-quality fixed prostheses.

Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

When a tooth is infected, the nerve can die and leave an abscess. This can be very painful and debilitating. By removing the infected nerve and placing antibiotics directly inside the roots of the tooth, the dentists at Stella Dental are able to remove the pain and allow the tooth to heal in the first appointment. The full treatment requires a further 3 visits to ensure the infection does not return allowing the tooth to become functional again.

Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth vary as much as the people that own them! Some are hidden under the gum, some develop perfectly straight and others get stuck and cause painful infections. Stella Dental performs most wisdom tooth extractions comfortably under local anaesthetic. More complex cases are easily referred to our local maxillofacial surgeons for treatment under general anaesthetic.

Gum Disease

Gum Disease

Like the foundations of a house, the gums and surrounding tissues form the base support of our teeth. When infected or inflamed, the integrity and health of the whole mouth can be affected. Stella Dental will thoroughly assess your gum health and advise on treatment ranging from general scale and cleans to specialist periodontal care. We have a great range of industry approved toothbrushes and toothpastes available for purchase.

Referrals and Prescriptions

Referrals and Prescriptions

Stella Dental does not provide fixed orthodontic treatments, however, we work very closely with a number of specialist orthodontic dentists in the area to provide all your teeth straightening needs.

In cases where children may need more complex or specific care such as treatment under sedation or general anaesthesia, Stella Dental will refer you to local caring paediatric specialists. Contact us to find out more.

If you or your family has a general mouth related issue, there's no need to go to the Doctor - at Stella Dental we are able to prescribe most forms of pain relief and medications to treat a range of oral diseases and discomforts.
